Nevada Wins W.A.C. Title Outright 65-61 Over New Mexico State

Nevada (24-5, 12-1 WAC) won its fourth outright Western Athletic Conference title after defeating New Mexico State (22-9, 9-4 WAC) 65-61 tonight.

The Wolf Pack has won six WAC titles in the last nine seasons. Two of the titles were shared in 2004 and 2008.  The Packs four outright titles were in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2012.

Head coach David Carter has been associated with all six of Nevada's WAC Championships, five as an assistant coach.

Senior forward Olek Czyz led the Pack in scoring for the fifth consecutive game and ninth time this season finish with 15 points tonight.

Malik Story scored 14 points and Dario Hunt 10. Story and Czyz have each scored in double figures a team high 23 times this season. Hunt had his streak of five double-doubles snapped tonight finishing with 10 points and five rebounds. Third-year head coach David Carter is now 58-37.

Nevada closes out the regular season on Saturday hosting Louisiana Tech (16-14, 6-7 WAC). The Bulldogs won 75-70 at Fresno State tonight.  Seniors Dario Hunt and Olek Czyz will be honored on Senior Night on Saturday prior to tipoff.
