You might have eaten at this location before but it's now a whole new experience. A & M Rosami took over Pierino's and now offers the best of both worlds. Paul Rosami is the owner. "We acquired some from the Pierino's, the previous business, dishes that we liked. And then we thought 'ok, we'll keep it as an Italian restaurant.' We wanted the Italian theme and then we thought 'how can we make it a little bit more original - like add some Mediterranean dishes some dishes that we grew up with.'"
In a tiny kitchen, Sergio works his magic, pulling from Mama Rosami's recipes he creates lamb just like she offers in her restaurants in Cypress and Italy. The chicken and vegetables dish is healthy yet full of flavor. And the chicken marsala with mushrooms, garlic and white wine also comes from the family recipe.
Dishes are served during dinner in the quiet intimate dining room. Soon a violinist will play background music. A piano may also be added up on the stage in the back of the room.
On the opposite side of the restaurant is the lunch room where diners can enjoy specialty pizzas made in the back kitchen or a bowl of pasta mixed with a homemade sauce.
But the uniqueness is about to take on a whole new twist. Soon, they'll install a charcoal grill for kabobs. And they'll bring in a chef from Cypress who specializes in just kabobs. He has four restaurants in Italy and Cypress and is now about to make his mark here in Reno. That should happen in late March. As Paul says, they're trying to make it in this tough business by offering something different. "We are providing something completely new, something so unique the dishes that you can't find anywhere else. That's one of the cornerstones."
