Nevada Wins a Triple Overtime Thriller

Nevada (23-5, 11-1 WAC), claimed a piece of the 2012 Western Athletic Conference title

tonight after defeating Fresno State (13-17, 3-9 WAC) 79-76 in triple overtime. The Wolf Pack

is two games ahead of New Mexico State (9-3) with two games remaining on the schedule.

The WAC title is the sixth for Nevada since joining the conference for the 2000-01 season. It is

the sixth in the last eight years. Of the five previous titles, two have were shared in 2004 and

2008. The 2005, 2006 and 2007 titles were outright.

The Pack posted a perfect 7-0 road record in WAC play the season. The last team to

accomplish the feat was the 2004-05 Pack squad that went 9-0.

Senior forward Dario Hunt recorded a double-double for the fifth consecutive game finishing

with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Hunt also had a season-high five blocks. The 20 points was

a season high. He has 12 double-doubles this season and 23 in his career.

Hunt's 62 blocks on the season is the record for a senior and is the fifth best season in school

history. His first block was his 250th at Nevada and his 254 continues to improve on his school

record.

Senior forward Olek Czyz posted his fifth double-double of the season and seventh of his

career ending the game with 25 points and 11 rebounds. The 25 points marked his fourth

consecutive game high and seventh this year. Czyz has 22 double figure scoring games

which is tied with Malik Story for the team high.

Hunt led the Pack in rebounding for the 21st time this season and 58th time in his career. It

was the 18th time he grabbed a game-high this year. He has 16 double figure rebound games

this year and 33 in his career.

Third-year head coach David Carter is now 57-37.

Nevada improved to 9-2 in road games and 10-3 away from Reno.
