As we reported Tuesday, our warm weather means bears are more active now than have been in winters past, and that has the Department of Wildlife trying to trap one black bear in Incline Village.

This past weekend, someone reported a black bear damaging a home and two cars in Incline Village.

So the Department of Wildlife set a trap with the intention to possibly euthanize the bear, they say is a threat.

Animal rights activists have poured Pine Sol near the trap at least twice hoping that will keep the bears away.

They've also brought stuffed bears to show their support for the wildlife.

"It's actually my idea to bring stuffed animals here because we all love the bears in the neighborhood," says Don Kanare.

A Facebook page set up last year to report bad bear-luring behavior has become a forum for bear activists to voice their concerns about the trap.

"I don't feel it's a threat to me personally as long as you give them their space. I don't want to see them killed," says John Richards.

Wildlife officials say its against the law to tamper with traps.
