Twelve gallons of jambalaya, 12 gallons of red beans simmered to perfection, 15 pounds of rice and 600 hush puppies. Now mix that all with the makings of 300 booboo bunnies and you have one great community event.

The leadership class at Bishop Manogue High School has been putting it all together for months now. They are holding a Mardi Gras themed dinner at school but it's not aimed at raising funds -  it's aimed at getting people to help people. You see, after dinner those attending will be putting together wash clothes with soap and ribbons.  They're referred to as Boo-Boo Bunnies and they will be donated to the children's ward at Renown Regional Medical Center.

"It's part of the 'Give Back Like Jack' campaign," says Sara Huggins of Bishop Manogue. "His family created the campaign in his honor to fuel good deeds and acts of kindness in the community like he did, and this class is very excited to have come up with a way to give back for all he and others have done for us."

The class did all the work too.

"They organized everything from the decorations to the food. They hired the caterer, they collected the money to buy the supplies to make the Boo-Boo Bunnies. And they helped get the word out to friends and family to come enjoy the food and help."

The money paid to take part goes to cover the food that is being brought in from the Jazz Louisiana Kitchen at the Legends in Sparks. It starts at 5:30pm Tuesday and runs until 7:30.
