Sparks Police arrested a man for an armed robbery late Monday night.
Investigators say 46-year-old Timothy Bowman went to the Rainbow Market on Commerce Street around 7pm and demanded alcohol. The clerk refused to sell it to him because his driver's license had expired. Police say Bowman then pulled out a gun and demanded that he be allowed to buy it.
The clerk gave in and Bowman left with the alcohol.
Police caught up with Bowman a short time later, after he was involved in a traffic accident a few blocks away.
Bowman faces several charges including robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and DUI.
