Thursday the Reno City Council voted to give approval allowing the Southeast Connector to be built on the Rosewood Lake Golf Course.

The council voted 5-to-1 in favor of the agreement. Councilwoman Jessica Sferrazza was opposed and Councilman Dave Aiazzi did not attend the vote.

In January, the council approved a deal between the city and the Regional Transportation Commission that compensates the city for the costs of construction on the golf course.

Construction should start later this year and once it's finished, it will connect South Reno and Sparks.
