GOP Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich was busy stumping down in Sin City on Thursday.

The former Speaker of the House attended a number of luncheons and rallies. He spent the day drawing a distinction between his policies and Mitt Romney's. At a manufacturing company in Las Vegas, Gingrich said he is the true conservative in the race and one that cares for the poor.

"Both Governor Romney and Barack Obama seem to believe a quote safety net is all the poor need," said Gingrich. "I don't believe that. What the poor needs is a trampoline, so they can spring up and quit being poor."

Gingrich went on to lay out his plan for doing just that. He said first he would tie unemployment benefits to a training program. He said that way everybody who signs up for unemployment would go to a business to learn how to do a job. He said the training would equip workers with skills needed to get a better job.

Gingrich also took the time to take aim at President Obama. He said the President hasn't done enough to jumpstart the economy, pointing to Nevada's 12.6% unemployment rate as proof.

"One of the major themes this fall is going to be a campaign between a paycheck and job candidate, Newt Gingrich and a food stamp and unemployment candidate in Barack Obama."

Gingrich also held a luncheon with Hispanic voters. The hot topic there was immigration. Gingrich said if he were President, he would start a guest worker program. He said he would have a major credit card company run the program because they know how to run such things.

Gingrich will continue his campaigning in Las Vegas Friday with a rally at 10:30am.
