Two local cases were featured on America's Most Wanted on January 20th. The first was the search for a suspected murderer in Elko and the other an older, Reno man who went missing in April 2011.

We first reported on the search for Eduardo Estrada in June 2011. Elko Police believe Estrada killed his estranged wife, Stephanie and has been on the run since.

Stephanie had been reported missing then her body was found inside her home. In the months since, police have been looking for Estrada but back in June only found his car; a silver Chevrolet Malibu at an Elko apartment complex.

In the report on America's Most Wanted, police said Stephanie had recently left Estrada after years of domestic abuse. It also said Stephanie worked as an intern for the Elko Police Department in the summer of 2001 and one co-worker said she would come into work crying about the abuse.

If you know anything, you're urged to call Elko Police at (775) 777-7300 or (775) 777-7310. You can also call the America's Most Wanted hotline at 1-800-CRIME-TV.

The other case featured was the disappearance of Reno man, Patrick Carnes.

Carnes went missing in April 2011 driving from Ohio to Reno with his dog. He was last seen driving his dark green, Subaru wagon by a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper. The trooper pulled Carnes over near Wells. Carnes was given a warning and continued his travels. The next morning, Carnes' car was found abandoned.

According to the America's Most Wanted report, there were no signs of foul play or any evidence that suggested the two were abducted. Authorities did extensive air and ground searches of the area and still didn't find anything, but they did find some information on the dashcam video from Carnes' traffic stop.

America's Most Wanted says in that video you can hear Carnes tell the trooper, "I'm only following him, because he's going to Elko." The Elko Undersheriff says Carnes was following a tractor trailer, but authorities haven't found the driver of that vehicle. Now investigators are making a plea to anyone, specifically long-haul truck drivers who may have seen Carnes or his Akita/mixed breed dog, Lucky to call the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office at (775) 623-6429 or Reno Police at 334-2107.
