Pedestrian Dies From Injuries in North Reno Vehicle Accident

Posted: Updated:

Reno Police say a pedestrian died from his injuries after he was hit by a vehicle in north Reno Friday night.

Police say the accident happened around 8:15 p.m. in the area of North Virginia Street and Bailey Drive.

Police say a 1998 Toyota RAV4 was driving southbound on North Virginia Street going towards the Bonanza Casino when the driver hit the pedestrian, 57-year old Norman Waller, who was in a marked crosswalk. Police say Waller was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The 31-year old driver reportedly stopped after the accident and cooperated with police on scene. Police say alcohol and speed do not appear to have been a factor in the accident. They say the investigation is ongoing.
