State Leaders React To Washoe Drive Fire

Several state leaders are giving their thoughts on the Washoe Drive Fire.

Senator Harry Reid: "My thoughts are with those affected by the wildfires in Northern Nevada. I especially express my sympathies to those who have lost their home as a result. My appreciation goes to the first responders and firefighters who are on the scene and working very hard to keep residents safe. I will continue to monitor the situation as information becomes available. "

Senator Dean Heller: "My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the Washoe Drive fire. My staff and I are monitoring the situation and will continue to work with the community to respond to any needs that arise. I would also like to thank the first responders who once again are in harm's way and urge everyone evacuating to keep safety a top priority."

Congresswoman Shelley Berkley: "My thoughts are with everyone who has suffered loss in the Washoe Drive Fire, and to everyone impacted by this blaze. I commend all the first responders and the agencies assisting Reno residents in need. I will work with local and state officials to help meet the needs of those affected by the long and destructive fire season that has caused so much damage in the Reno area."

Congressman Mark Amodei will be in Reno area Friday to meet with first responders and constituents.
