The Washoe Drive Fire was declared fully contained at 6:00am Saturday.  The fire burned 3,177 acres.

At 8:00am Saturday, all evacuation areas were re-opened, according to Mark Regan with Sierra Fire Protection District.

Regan also said at 3:00pm Saturday, the incident management team will turn control of the fire back over to local firefighting agencies.

Late Friday night, Highway 395 re-opened through the fire area.  The roadway had been closed since the fire broke out on Thursday afternoon.

In the press conference on Friday, we learned a person came forward taking responsibility for causing the fire by improperly discarding fireplace ashes in the area.

29 homes were destroyed.  Three homes have four to five-percent damage, one has minimal damage. Authorities also tell us seven out buildings were damaged.

We'll continue to bring you any updates as we get them into our newsroom.
