The Washoe Drive Fire was declared fully contained at 6:00am Saturday. The fire burned 3,177 acres.
At 8:00am Saturday, all evacuation areas were re-opened, according to Mark Regan with Sierra Fire Protection District.
Regan also said at 3:00pm Saturday, the incident management team will turn control of the fire back over to local firefighting agencies.
Late Friday night, Highway 395 re-opened through the fire area. The roadway had been closed since the fire broke out on Thursday afternoon.
In the press conference on Friday, we learned a person came forward taking responsibility for causing the fire by improperly discarding fireplace ashes in the area.
29 homes were destroyed. Three homes have four to five-percent damage, one has minimal damage. Authorities also tell us seven out buildings were damaged.
