You just might recall the Republican caucus chaos of 2008. More than twice as many Republicans participated than anticipated. Lines were long, tempers ran short and organization was askew.
Republicans learned from that experience and now promise a better caucus this time around.
"Four years ago Republicans really botched the caucus process," says Truckee Meadows Community College Political Science Professor Fred Lokken. "They promise to do better this time around and they really need to because the lines were so long and it was so disorganized last time that a lot of people just left."
Washoe County Republican Chairman David Buell agrees.
"We only had four schools last time and the lines were horrendous. We already have 14 locations set this time and we are training a lot more people to help out. It really should cut down on the crowds this time."
They are holding trainings for caucus workers Tuesday nights and Saturday afternoons.
If you're a Republican you have to be registered by January 20th. Democrats can register the day of their caucus - January 21st.
The Republican caucus is set for February 4th.
