Posted: Updated:

From the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority:

The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) Board of Trustees has formed a temporary committee to review Reno Air Racing Association plans to hold an event in 2012 at Reno-Stead Airport.

RTAA Board Chairman John Wagnon has appointed a temporary committee to meet with RARA to discuss needs, proposals, and timelines. The committee, chaired by Trustee Jerry Hall, will be publicly noticed and a meeting will be scheduled as soon as possible.

A total of 11 people, including Jimmy Leeward, died when his P-51 Mustang dubbed the 'Galloping Ghost' crashed nose-first into a section of VIP box seats at the Reno-Stead Airport on September 16th during the National Championship Air Races.
