
Nevada improved to 8-3 after defeating UC Riverside (4-6) 71-47 today. Third-year head coach David is now 42-35. Nevada has won a season-high five in a row and eight of its last nine.
Senior forward Dario Hunt recorded his third consecutive double-double finishing with 12 points and 11 rebounds. The Wolf Pack committed a season low eight turnovers. For the fifth time this season and second game in a row four Pack players scored in double figures; Malik Story (15), Olek Czyz (15), Hunt (12) and Deonte Burton (10) Hunt has five double figure rebounding games this season and 22 in his career. Today is the 44th time he has led the Pack in rebounding in a game during his career. The UCR game is the fourth consecutive game he has topped the Pack in rebounding and seventh time this season.
Sophomore Jordan Finn and junior Patrick Nyeko each scored a season-high five points against UCR. The 15 points for Story is the fifth time he has led or tied for the Pack high in scoring this season which is one more than Burton's four. Czyz's 15 point game is the second time he has led or tied for the Pack lead in scoring this season.
A total of 11 Nevada players saw action in today's game. Nevada is 8-3 after 11 games this season. Last season the Pack went 3-8 in the first 11 games of the season.
Nevada hosts Portland on Dec. 22 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
