Directly across the street from the University of Nevada is what every college needs - a student hangout. And this one is called The Corkscroo.
Levi Guthrie and his family moved to town a few years ago. And when the Breakaway closed down, they decided to move into this corner spot. Located on 9th and Virginia, it's one of the closest bars and grills to the university. "We got a DJ, beer pong, pool table."
And while it caters to students, it also brings in all types. Tourists from downtown wander up Virginia to take advantage of some of their great deals. Like Friday night, $10 will get you all you can drink from 10pm to midnight.
But it also attracts those looking for a good place to eat. Everything here is made from scratch and by hand. And the burgers are their most popular. Aaron Marble is the executive chef. "Our burgers are specially made by hand. We do a lot of herbs and spices, most of everything we make is by hand."
And you never really know what they will come up with next at the Corkscroo. "We're a really close family always having fun, always crazy, spur of the moment everything and that's how we like to run the bar."
