Nevada improved to 6-3 after defeating Arizona State (3-5) 69-61 tonight. Third-year head coach David Carter won his 40th game at Nevada. Carter is now 40-35. Nevada has defeated a Pacific 12 school for the second game in a row. The Pack defeated Washington 76-73 in overtime on Friday and Arizona State 69-61 tonight.

Deonte Burton scored a game-high 28 points, 21 in the second half. After 31 versus Washington on Friday Burton has scored 59 points in the last two games. Burton made 13-of-15 free throws. The 13 free throws made is a career-high. Dario Hunt scored in double figures for the second time this season finishing with a seasonhigh 14. Hunt posted Nevada's first double-double of the season with 12 rebounds and the 14 points. It was the 12 double-double of his career.

Nevada has attempted more free throws than its opponents in all nine games this season.

Nevada plays at Montana on Saturday at 6 p.m. PT.
