Nevada Shocks Washington in Overtime

Nevada improved to 5-3 after defeating Washington (4-2) 76-73 in overtime.

Sophomore guard Deonte Burton scored a career-high 31 points. Burton's previous high was 28 at UNLV earlier this season. The last Nevada player to score 30 points in a game was Malik Story who totaled 34 in the WAC Tournament versus Fresno State.

Burton hit a three-pointer with 6 seconds left to send the game into overtime tied at 66-66. Burton scored Nevada's first eight points of overtime and the Pack totaled 10 in the overtime period. Kevin Panzer had the final two points of the game on an assist from Burton. Burton scored 22 of his points after halftime.

The Pack had three players score in double figures; Burton (31), Malik Story (13) and Olek Czyz(10). Czyz fouled out in regulation.

Nevada has attempted more free throws than its opponents in all eight games this season.

Nevada third-year head coach David Carter its now 39-35.

Nevada plays at Arizona State on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. PT.
