University of Nevada football coach Chris Ault announced the dismissal of running back Mike Ball from the team on Tuesday.
"Mike violated team rules and protocol and, unfortunately for him, there was no other alternative," Ault said. "We'll do everything we can to help Mike move forward."
Ball, a junior from Las Vegas, had rushed for 704 yards and three touchdowns on 135 carries this season. He played in nine games this season with five starts. For his career, he had 1,183 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground with four more touchdowns through the air. He is also Nevada's all-team leader in kick returns with 1,695 yards on 70 returns.
