TWO OVER 100: Nevada had two players go over the 100yard mark in rushing as quarterback Cody Fajardo gained 110 yards and Lampford Mark rushing for 109. It marked the second time this season that Nevada placed two over the century mark as Fajardo and Mike Ball each rushed for 139 at Texas Tech.
STREAKS COME TO AN END: Nevada saw a number of streaks come to an end with the loss, including: 16-game home winning streak, five straight wins overall, 10 straight WAC wins, 10 straight WAC home wins. Also coming to an was Cody Fajardo's five-game winning streak as the starter.
MATTHEWS TOPS 1000: Senior wideout Rishard Matthews caught eight passes for 87 yards a touchdown and with the yardage, he moved over the 1,000yard mark for the season. That marks the first time a Nevada player has hit the mark since Marko Mitchell did so in 2008.
MATTHEWS' RETURNS: While Louisiana Tech boasts one of the better punters in the nation, Matthews was able to neutralize him to some degree with a big game returning punts. The senior had six returns for 86 yards in the game, including a 34 yarder. He entered the game ranked fourth in the nation in punt returns and increased his average to 15.0 per return.
HURST CONNECTS: Jake Hurst had a tremendous day punting as the senior averaged 46.2 yards per punt and placed all four inside the 20yard line. He also connected on his first career collegiate field goals, from 19 and then 24 yards out, both in the third quarter. He became the third Nevada player to make a field goal this season.
EXTRA POINTS: Nevada won the opening coin toss and deferred to the second half … The Wolf Pack opened in a two-tight end set with Scott Frisbie getting the start … Chris Barker started his 36th consecutive game – all 36 games of his career … Rishard Matthews has caught a pass in all 24 games of his career … Brett Roy maintained his stellar play with another sack … Isaiah Frey broke up three passes on the day … Freshman kicker Colin Ditsworth made his first career tackle … Cody Fajardo went over the 2,000]yard mark in total offense for the year.
With the loss, Nevada saw its record improve to 6]4 on the year. The loss moved Nevada's all]time record to 509-439-33 and Hall of Fame Coach Chris Ault saw his record move to 225-101-1.
