Nevada Opens Season with Loss to Missouri State 68-46

Nevada (0-1) lost 6846 to Missouri State (1-0) to begin the 2011-12 season. Nevada lost its season opener for the first time since falling 63-60 at Central Florida on Nov.11, 2007.

Nevada third-year head coach David Carter its now 34-33. The Missouri State loss is the firstseason opening loss for Carter.

The loss was the first at home to begin a season since a 91-73 setback to Kansas on Nov. 29, 1980.

Sophomore forward Kevin Panzer was the lone Nevada player in double figures with 10 points and it is the first time in his career has led the Wolf Pack in scoring.

Senior forward Dario Hunt broke the Nevada career records for blocks as his 193 is one more than Nick Fazekas (2004-07) totaled in his four-year career.

Junior point guard Keith Fuetsch's seven points and 20 minutes were both career highs.

Sophomore guard Jerry Evans, Jr. grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds which is also his first double figure rebounding game. It marked the fourth time Evans has led the Pack in rebounding.

Forwards Olek Czyz (0-3) and Dario Hunt (0-9) combined to go 0-for-12 from the field. Nevada returns to action on Monday at UNLV. Tip-off is set for 7:05 p.m. and the game will air on CBS Sports Network.
