Guardsman Returns to Work After IHOP Shooting

Posted: Updated:

A Nevada National Guardsman is returning to work two months after he was shot inside a Carson City IHOP restaurant during a deadly rampage.

The Nevada Appeal reports 32-year-old Sgt. 1st Class Jeremiah Mock returned to his job part-time last week after recuperating from a gunshot that broke his arm in 11 places.

Mock was at a breakfast meeting with four other guardsmen on Sept. 6 when 32-year-old Eduardo Sencion opened fire with an automatic assault rifle.

Three of Mock's companions died in the shooting that also killed another IHOP patron. Sencion died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Surveillance video of the shooting released last week shows Sencion running through the parking lot, firing bullets in rapid bursts. At one point, he's seen shooting at a motorcycle at close range.
