
SERIES: Nevada improved its lead in the all]time series against New Mexico State to 13]2 as Nevada has won three straight in the series and has Nevada lost in Las Cruces (7]0). With Nevada moving to the Mountain West, the teams likely won't meet again for a while.
RUSHING TO THE WIN: Cody Fajardo threw for nearly 300 yards but it was the nearly 400 yards and seven rushing touchdowns that led the way for the Pack. The Wolf Pack rushed for a season high 374 yards on the ground and seven touchdowns in the victory. That total included a career]high185 yards and a touchdown on just eight carries for Lampford Mark. Mike Ball nearly hit the 100]yard mark with 93 yards on the ground. And Fajardo had 60 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
FAJARDO DELIVERS: In his first road start, freshman quarterback Cody Fajardo delivered a win. And he did it in a big way with 343 yards of total offense. Fajardo completed 19]of]29 for 283 yards through the air and rushed for 60 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Fajardo is now 4]0 as Nevada's starter.
STEPPING UP: Nevada saw some new players step up in the game as starters battled injuries. With Albert Rosette missing the start at defense end due to injury and tackle Jack Reynoso going down in the game, sophomore Sam Foster and freshman Brock Hekking both stepped up and combined for six tackles, including the first career sack for each player.
Linebacker James]Michael Johnson missed some time in the first half after being shaken up. In his stead,
Dray Bell came on to break up a pass attempt and later record his first sack for a 12]yard loss.
Senior punter Jake Hurst also had to fill in at kicker after Allen Hardison went down. Hurst kicked the final three extra points and handled kickoffs.
EXTRA POINTS: New Mexico won the opening coin toss and elected to receive while Nevada defended the south goal … Sophomore Sam Foster saw his first career start as the defensive end got the nodahead of Albert Rosette … Chris Barker started his 35th consecutive game – all 35 games of his career …Rishard Matthews has caught a pass in all 22 games of his career … Nevada had three interceptions, which is a season high … The Wolf Pack also had six sacks, also a career high …

With the win, Nevada saw its record improve to 5]3 on the year. The win moved Nevada's all]time record
