In honor of our state's 147th birthday and to remember those affected by the IHOP shooting and air race tragedy, the Grand Sierra Resort is hosting a Governor's Banquet tonight.
"We're going to make this a fundraiser for the victims and families and 100% of the net proceeds will go to them," said Event Organizer Rich Crombie.
The event includes dinner, a raffle, silent auction and live entertainment.
Tickets are $40 a person. The event will be held at the Grand Sierra Resort at 6pm.
So far, more than 300 tickets have been sold. Crombie said the goal is to sell 800.
Our own Mike Alger will be speaking along with a few other guests.
"We're going to have a lot of guest speakers. Governor Sandoval will be speaking and Miss Nevada. We will have some other guest stars there as well."
