Last year, there was a restaurant on Hill Street near downtown Reno called 275 Hill Street. But now, it's now under new ownership. And the new name is Hill St. Grill. Nigel Chambers, and his wife Laura, are the owners. "We love the location. We live in the neighborhood. It's a great spot; it's got a great vibe to it."
Nigel and Laura have spent years working at restaurants worldwide. But Nigel says this is their final move. Now that they own their own place, they're here to stay. And they've got a menu they think will make you want to become a regular. "We focus on a clean healthy cuisine. Contemporary American style which is a fusion of different things which allows us to do whatever we want."
One of the lunch favorites is the Hill St. Burger on a Hill St. Bun. And for dinner, check out the milk braised lamb shank with carrot, onion and eggplant caponata.
As for the restaurant, it has great south facing windows accompanied by warm paint colors. And the bar is stocked with all your favorites, as well as some bottles you may have never seen before. And while the weather holds, be sure to grab a table on the spacious patio. That is if you can find a spot. This restaurant isn't just popular with the locals. "We do get a lot of tourism which is strange. But tourists out by the river will walk up to look at the Episcopal church and they find us."
