What used to be the shamrock inspired Fitzgeralds is now a wide open smorgasbord of food and drinks from all over the world. This is TheRow inside CommRow. Natasha Bourlin is the communications director at CommRow. "This row is a menagerie of amazing eateries and bars all of which are a vision of Fernando Leal our developer."
Each vignette as they call them has a different flavor and flair. Some are shiny and bright. Others are cozy and classy. And down the middle is where you can pig out. At Lemoni, you find Mediterranean inspired dishes. From gyros to humus to flaming saganaki. At Que, it's all Mexican with freshly made tacos and gorditas. And right in the middle is Da Stand - home of the trying-to-become Reno favorite Italian beef dip sandwich. It starts with Chicago imported bread. The roll is filled with marinated roast beef and topped off with spicy vegetable gerdinaire. Finally, it's completed dunked into au jus. This sandwich is so big and messy, Executive Chef, Richey LaCounte has to explain how to eat it. "Legs spread a little, elbow on the counter and you just dig in."
This Chicago standard is already becoming a huge hit in Reno. And you have plenty of options to wash it down with. At Orale they have 125 different kinds of tequila. Lucky Lane Lounge is reminiscent of old Reno with famous old fashions. TarTar is elegant and feminine with champagne cocktails and ceviche among other things. For a pick me up, the Checkout coffee shop also has an honor system library. And for the kids, Twisted is a do it yourself candy and popcorn dessert shop.
And with no gaming, no smoking and the fact it's pet friendly, CommRow is really hoping to be embraced by all of us. "We really want the locals who are the heart of this project to embrace this entire property and come out and enjoy this downtown again."
