IHOP Shooting Weapons Information Released

Posted: Updated:

The Carson City Sheriff's Office released new information about the weapons used in last month's deadly shooting at the IHOP in Carson City.

Investigators found a 38-caliber revolver pistol and an assault rifle near Eduardo Sencion's body. That assault rifle was a Chinese-made modified version of an AK 47 manufactured as a semi-automatic sport rifle. Sencion fired about 60 rounds.

The assault rifle was last sold by a private party in California to an unknown buyer five years ago and was later modified to function as an automatic weapon.

"The modifications that were done to the weapon were very, very meticulous and very well done," explains Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. "That would suggest that whoever did do the modifications, that person knows exactly what they were doing."

October 6th marks exactly one month since Eduardo Sencion shot and killed four people and injured seven others before turning the gun on himself.
