Five members of the Elvin family suffered life-threatening injuries in Friday's crash.
And while they're mourning the loss of 71-year-old Cheryl, they're also celebrating the miraculous recovery of her husband, Chuck, sons Bill and Brian and daughter-in-law, Linda. "All in their own stages of recovery and all improving and in many ways quite remarkably," says Allen Martin Elvin.
The Elvin family says they know the prayers and outpouring of support from across the country is helping their family heal.
And even though they're mourning a loss, they're happy to say Cheryl was where she loved being. "The air races were as Allen said a highlight, a real highlight for her. She was an incredible fan and incredible booster. There wasn't any place she'd rather be," says Jim Elvin.
