The fence along the Reno-Stead airfield has really become a makeshift memorial for the eleven lives lost and dozens injured.

Four days after the deadly crash, people are still adding items to a makeshift memorial at the front gate of the Reno-Stead Airport.

People we talked to say it's important to maintain this shrine and make sure these victims aren't forgotten.

"I do my best, trying to keep this going. I have made a lot of promises to a lot of people that I will keep the candles going at night, in memory of everybody. Not only the pilot and his family, but the other victims, as well," says Candy Media.

People we talked to say this memorial has been growing by the day.

They've dropped off things like flowers, candles, flags, and cards, serving as a reminder of those who lost their lives in the crash.

Neighbors tell us there has already been some vandalism though - telling us people have knocked over candles, thrown flowers, and even stolen certain items, like model airplanes.

We've seen adults and families stop by to pay their respects to the victims and we've even seen kids come by to sign the posters, and leave stuffed animals behind.

"I feel bad because the people have families and they deserved to live longer," says Lisandra Cardenas.

"My niece just loves coming over and visiting and she says it's sad what happened to the families," says Kori Karpstein.

Sunday the City of Reno is hosting a public memorial service for the victims at the Idlewild Park arboretum at 6pm.

During the service a tree will be dedicated in memory of the victims.
