Mourners lined the streets of Pierce for the funeral of a Nevada National Guard soldier who was killed earlier this month in a shooting.
The Norfolk Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/o3r4gi) services were held Saturday morning for U.S. Army Master Sgt. Christian Riege, of Carson City. He was buried in Nebraska at his family's request.
Riege was among three Nevada National Guard soldiers killed Sept. 6 when 32-year-old Eduardo Sencion stormed an IHOP restaurant in Carson City, Nev., and opened fire with an assault rifle.
Civilian was also killed, and seven people were wounded.
Sencion, who had history of mental health issues, killed himself in the parking lot.
Riege's military occupation was armor crewman, and he served in Afghanistan from 2009 to 2010. He had also served in the Navy.
