Authorities are learning more about last week's tragic shooting in Carson City that killed four and injured 7 others.

Sheriff Ken Furlong says he is pleased with the amount of evidence and information that authorities have gathered, so far, and more is still coming in including video surveillance from inside a restaurant just next door.

Newly released surveillance video captures the sound of gunshots coming from outside Locals BBQ and Grill, across from the International House of Pancakes.

Moments later, you can hear owner, Ralph Swagler, yelling to a woman to get away from the restaurant. "Don't go in there! Hey, there's a shooting!"

Swagler calls 911 and his son goes to lock the door, then you see the windows shatter.

Today, his restaurant is back in business and he says the community has been very supportive.

A memorial continues to grow in the parking lot, near the shooting.

But the investigation is far from over. "It's been geared more towards putting together, in a common sense approach, 'What happened? What lead up to it? And can this be prevented from happening again?'"

Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong says the biggest question is who Eduardo Sencion was.

The 32-year-old was described as a quiet man with a history of mental illness.

Furlong tells us Sencion had two rifles and two pistols with him, when he shot 11 people, killing three members of theNevada Army National Guard and a South Lake Tahoe woman.

"How did it go from a very good business person...family business, to one of the most tragic things Northern Nevada has ever seen?"

Furlong says the investigation should take six to eight weeks to be completed. That is when they expect Sencion's autopsy and toxicology results. "Are we looking at other drugs onboard? Was he taking his medications? Has there been any changes in his medications? That he cooperated or failed to cooperate with medical persons?"

As for the surviving victims, Furlong says most have been released from the hospital, but some continue to struggle. "I am optimistic that all of them will recover to a point where they will function well in life."

Furlong says they still don't know of a reason why Sencion chose that business, on that day, to carry out this crime.

He also adds that because the shooter is dead, we may never find out why.

The shock of this tragedy is still evident for many northern Nevadans so a number of groups are looking to help.

Saturday at 1:30pm, the National Organization for Victim Assistance -- or NOVA -- is holding a stress management meeting in the theater of the Carson City Community Center at 851 East William Street.

A team of specialists will guide a discussion with anyone struggling after the shooting.
