We're hearing more from survivors of last week's deadly shooting in Carson City that killed four and injured 7 others.
Some survivors we interviewed say they were visiting family in Carson City when tragedy struck.
Ethlyn and Howard MacDonald make it a tradition to stop at the IHOP in Carson City with their family before heading back to Southern California.
Just like everybody else, they were inside eating breakfast when the bullets started flying. "I could smell the smoke, it was really thick and I could hear the bullets coming closer, and I really thought I was going to get shot in the back," says Ethlyn MacDonald.
The couple were with their daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughters when police say Eduardo Sencion opened fire.
They were sitting right next to the table of Nevada Army National Guardsmen when he allegedly started shooting.
Fortunately, they were able to dive under the table and none of their family members were hurt.
The couple remembers seeing one of the bullets hit the chair where their great grandchild had been sitting.
They say if they hadn't gotten down on the floor when they did the child would have been shot. "We believe that God put a shield around us. My wife is 70 and I'm 79. We've lived a long life, we believe that God still has something left for us to do, that's why we're still here," says Howard MacDonald.
The MacDonalds say a stranger and her daughter helped them escape from the restaurant safely.
