Reno/Sparks, NEV – Joey Chestnut, the world's No.1-ranked competitive eater, thrilled a capacity crowd by clenching World Rib Eating title for the fifth time in the six year history of Nugget World Rib Eating Championships at the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-off.
Chestnut, the reigning champion, consumed an impressive 7.6 pounds of pork rib meat. Second-place finisher Pat Bertoletti, who this year downed a hefty 6.6 pounds, was not able to repeat his 2009 victory over Chestnut. The No.10 – ranked, Matt Stonie, ate 6.35 pounds for third place.
