What a great weekend to enjoy northern Nevada. Artown is in full swing and that includes all kinds of events indoors and out. You can take your kids to discover music at the McKinley Arts Center, see the V & T steam up in Carson City, watch the Fireman's Muster in Virginia City and enjoy the Lavender Festival at Lavender Ridge Friday, Saturday and Sunday this year.

Lights Circus in the Montage:  The Light Circus is a glowing exhibit featuring vintage neon signs from across the Silver State. Master Pull Desert Cars: 2pm-10 pm Victorian Square Sparks: Desert race cars, rock crawlers, freestyle motocross, enduro-cross and classic cars will all be on display and in action throughout the weekend. Friday will feature USA 500 desert race car expo, extreme freestyle aerial motocross stunt jumps performed by members of the Metal Mulisha and live music. Saturday will feature enduro-cross qualifiers and expo, rock crawl exhibitions and a classic car show-n-shine. Both days will also have a wide variety of vendor booths featuring food, drinks and more.

Rollin' on the River 5:30pm Wingfield Park: Produced by the Reno News & Review "Rollin' on the River" has evolved from a community concert series into one of Reno's most highly-anticipated free music events. Over the years the lineup has featured some notable Artists: Booker T. Jones Jesse Colin Young Maria Muldaur Charlie Musselwhite Michelle Shocked Todd Snider David Lindley & Wally Ingram and Norton Buffalo. Staying true to its roots however "Rollin' on the River" also includes Artists from Reno's vibrant local music scene.

Wings and Willow Festival Genoa 8 am-8 pm: Celebrate the diversity of Carson Valley. This first-ever festival will be fun for the whole family in beautiful Genoa. Admission to the festival is free. There will be tours to explore birds, butterflies, wildflowers, wetlands, and to float the Carson River. The first tours will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude with the Sunset Serenity Tour. The costs for tours vary; buy advance tickets at website (below), or on the day of the festival. All day, there will be many free programs about birds, wildflowers, butterflies, bees, bears, bats, nature photography. After the show the quilts will be mailed to the Alzheimer's Association where they'll be auctioned off and the money will all go toward Alzheimer's Research.

Super Hero Pub Crawl: Reno's original Superhero Pub Crawl presented by Reno Tahoe Tonight will start at 8pm on Saturday July 16, 2011 at Biggest Little City Club at 188 California Ave. This year the event will feature 17 different bars serving $2 and $3 drink specials, and only costs $5 for a map and cup to participate in the specials.

Pops on the River: The hottest event of the summer, Pops on the River, will feature Broadway stars Doug LaBrecque and Stephanie Block singing all the songs you love, along the Reno Phil. One of the most prolific concert performers of his generation, Mr. LaBrecque has been a soloist with some of the world's finest symphony orchestras including The National Symphony, The Israel Philharmonic (Tel Aviv), as well as Chicago, Cleveland, Atlanta, and San Francisco.

Tickets: Sponsorship tables range from $5,000 to $350. Individual seats are $35 and sold through by the Pops on the River volunteer committee. Proceeds from this event help support the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and the two Youth Orchestras.
