Salvation Army Provides Christmas Help for Families


Christmas is right around the corner, and the Salvation Army wants to help low-income families celebrate the holidays. The group is teaming up with the Marines' Toys for Tots program to provide Christmas presents for children up to age 12. The Salvation Army will also have food available for families.

To be eligible:
- Families must provide proof of Washoe County residency (rent or utility receipt with name and address)
- Income must fall within eligibility guidelines
- All family members must have ID (Birth certificate or other document with birth date for each child)

Applications will be accepted at the Salvation Army's Christmas Center, 7175 South Virginia Street in Reno, at the following times:

November 22-24, Monday-Wednesday, 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.; 1-3:30 p.m.
(Closed Thanksgiving Day, November 25)
November 26, Friday, 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.; 1-3:30 p.m.
November 27, Saturday, 9 a.m.-Noon
November 29-December 3, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.; 1-3:30 p.m.
