Sparks Teen Hit By Car Saturday Night

A Sparks teen was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car Saturday night.

It happened on East Prater Way, near McCarran Boulevard around 8 p.m.

Police say the 13-year old tried to cross Prater Way, outside of a crosswalk and against the light. He was struck by a pick-up truck and was transported to Renown Medical Center where he was treated for broken ribs and lacerations.

The accident is still under investigation.
