Whether it's the Artown pianos, The Basque Festival, or Arts and Paws, Artown has something for just about everyone. No doubt, Artown is about creativity. It's the expression of the mind, body and soul. It's art and it comes in many different forms.
That's why event organizers say more than 300 hundred thousand people from all over the world come to check out this unique event every single year.
Also, Artown provides a cheap way to spend the summer enjoying great entertainment. Organizers say more than 60% of this year's events were free of charge. Speaking of money, Artown launched a Give Three Dollars, Keep Artown Free Campaign. It's not required, but those who can spare three bucks pitch in to help out with operational costs. Organizers were hoping the campaign would generate 25,000 dollars in extra revenue. They tell us they have exceeded expectations.
As the calendar turns to August, the music and dancing will give way to the sound of classical cars zipping around town. However, that will not prevent many from celebrating the arts, no matter the time of year.
