A Sparks man is recovering after he was burned when a gas tank exploded Friday afternoon.
It happened at the Advanced Refining Concepts on Coney Island Drive in Sparks. Crews say a gas tank containing bio-diesel fuel exploded into the man's face and upper body. He received 3rd degree burns and was taken to the hospital where his condition is unknown at this time.
They say two others were treated for smoke inhalation and were released. The Sparks Fire Marshal says the tank was also leaking bio-diesel fuel outside the business. A fire investigator is on the scene to try and determine what caused the explosion.
