Peg's Glorified Ham and Eggs has expanded again. This family run string of restaurants started in downtown Reno, expanded to Mae Anne in the northwest part of town and on May 5th, opened it's latest eatery on South Meadows Parkway, in the Smith's shopping center.

Fred Lee manages the new one. "We are family owned and operated. My parents started the first Peg's 10 years ago. We opened another one three years ago and this one as our third. And we are just really thankful the Reno community enjoys our restaurant."

Fred's three sisters and his parents run the other two. And all of them have the same Peg's feel. The pastel turquoise and peach color scheme. The big diner-like booths. And the gigantic plates of food. In fact, Fred credits the quality and quantity of food to their success. "My dad likes to call it all our food items are glorified. I joke sometimes they are Fred size portions. They're really big meals and in this kind of economy people really appreciate that we are giving them value that we do for the price that we offer it. So I think it keeps people coming back."

There's even an outdoor patio shaded by bright red umbrellas. This location used to be home to Keva Juice and Ben and Jerry's. But you pop out a wall and now you can visit Peg's from 6:30am to 2pm every day of the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas.

For more information, you can reach the south Reno Peg's at 775-851-7200.
