The Nevada Center of Entrepreneurship and Technology is holding a nearly week long series to celebrate small business.
Tuesday, the Silver Sky Group is hosting an open house to talk about starting a small business as part of the series.
While it may seem risky to start a new business now, some say it's the perfect time. "If you think about it a couple of years ago, it would have been almost impossible to find good employees or to get affordable retail for commercial space. Now there's a huge pool of qualified people out there just wanting to go to work for somebody. And there's all this great retail office space available for a fraction of what it was a couple of years ago," says NCET CEO Dave Archer.
Silver Sky Group helps others start their small business through patents, concepts, designs, branding and even copyright.
"It's kind of an 'ask the expert' session where we'll have people from every background and it's just a very informal opportunity to meet an IP attorney or an accountant or bookkeeper to ask questions you need to know to make your business grow."
The open house starts at 5:30pm at 5422 Longley Lane Suite B. It costs $30.
