Elko High School's marching band plans to be in Washington, D.C., next month for the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama, but the "Pride of Nevada" won't be marching down Pennsylvania Avenue.
The band has received word that it hasn't been invited to participate.
Instead, Green Valley High School in southern Nevada was tapped for the parade. It will be the second time in its history that Green Valley will march in a presidential inauguration.
Elko band director Walt Lovell says the group will use their time in the nation's capital to be a part of history and enjoy the sights.
They've already reserved hotel rooms in Baltimore for the five-day trip.
