2.7 Earthquake Shakes Northwest Reno

A relatively strong earthquake rattled northwest Reno on Wednesday night.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 2.7 temblor hit at 11:42 p.m., in the Verdi-Mogul area.

Some viewers called the Channel 2 Newsroom, describing the quake as "jerky" and "strong."

This wasn't the only earthquake to hit northwest Reno on Wednesday. The USGS also reported the following quakes:

• 0.8 at 12:07 p.m.
• 1.4 at 12:36 p.m.
• 1.4 at 1:16 p.m.
• 1.4 at 4:26 p.m.
• 1.0 at 9:20 p.m.
