Believe it or not - there are jobs out there.
The Public Safety Dispatch Center needs to fill 20 911 dispatcher positions. Training is done in-house and lasts about 18 months. Starting salary is $17.87 an hour and if you're bilingual or have a degree, your pay increases.
There's vacation, sick leave and paid retirement benefits. "You need to be able to stay calm under pressure because when somebody's calling you here, they're not usually having a great day. They need someone who can be a rock for them," says Karla Day Public Safety Dispatch Center Supervisor.
Renown Medical Center has more than 100 positions open and they're not just for nurses or respiratory therapists.
Wells Fargo Bank is filling 14 positions in northern Nevada.
And the University of Phoenix says it's always looking to hire new facility.
