4 Fallon Students Arrested After Dress Code Flap

Posted:

Four Churchill County High School students have been arrested after a flap over a dress code violation.

Principal Robbin Pedrett says the incident began Friday afternoon on campus when a 17-year-old student refused to turn over a bandana to a staff member.

The employee requested the assistance of a police officer, but officials say the student refused to turn over the bandana to the officer and became aggressive.

The officer asked for help from another officer, but the student still resisted as several other students gathered around him.

The 17-year-old and three classmates then were arrested on suspicion of interference with a public officer. The 17-year-old also was taken into custody on charges of resisting arrest and assault on a peace officer.

Police say when the 17-year-old turned aggressive toward the initial officer, another boy removed an unspecified item from that officer.

The school was locked down for more than an hour afterward, but students still were dismissed at the regular time.
