Do you have cats? If so, I'm betting they're not as large as Stewie.
The massive Maine Coon could soon enter the Guinness Book of World Records for world's longest cat. "I've gotten him anywhere between 45 and 49 inches. The current world record is 48 and that's held by another Maine Coon."
Guinness crowned that Maine Coon, Leo, the world's longest cat in 2006. The Chicago kitty measured four feet long.
Stewie's mom, Robin Hendrickson (with the Silver Cats Club) says there is strategy and her three and a half year old knows the pose. "It's from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail. So he has to lay on his side and it'll probably take a couple of us to hold him down, stretch him and get the angles all right."
But even though Stewie's successfully stretched past the world record mark in practice, "It really, really, really depends on how relaxed he is. If he's having a bad day at the show, we may not get the world record."
You can cheer him on this weekend at the Grand Sierra Resort during the annual International Championship and Household Pet Show. It's $5 for adults, $2 for kids 12 and younger, $3 for seniors and $10 for families.
About 250 cats will compete for honors. Proceeds benefit local feline welfare organizations which rescue and treat ferals.
Plus, you might even meet a future family member. The Humane Society will showcase adoptable cats and kittens - there's a huge demand now.
And although it's unlikely none of these guys will grow to Stewie's size, event organizers say there's no measurement for the love they provide.
