The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is trying to determine whether human remains found in Washoe Valley are those of an ancient Indian burial ground.
Deputies say bones were found on the southeast side of Washoe Lake. They say a man was walking his dog around 5:00 p.m. on Friday, when he noticed pieces of a skull, and a fragment of jaw with teeth.
Several experts from the Crime Lab surveyed the scene, and brought samples to the Coroner's Office, to determine the age and gender - and to rule out criminal activity.
