The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation released new unemployment numbers Thursday morning that show slight drops in the state.
Nevada's unemployment rate for January 2011 is now 14.2%. It fell from 14.9% in December.
The January rate for the Reno/Sparks area fell to 13.3% from 13.8% in December. Carson City's rate fell too, from 14% to 13.6%.
The DETR says nearly 188,000 Nevadans remain unemployed.
