Olympic History Museum to open at Reno airport

RENO, Nev. (AP) - An exhibit commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1960 Winter Games at Squaw Valley will go on display at Reno-Tahoe International Airport.

An opening ceremony for the Olympic History Museum will be held on Monday, four days before the start of the Vancouver Winter Games.

The exhibit will allow passengers to stand on the very platforms used during the awards ceremony, with the American flag hanging above the gold podium.

The museum features flags from all countries represented at the 1960 Games, photos, magazines and uniforms.

Two television monitors will diplay a video about the 1960 Games.

The museum will be on exhibit through the spring.

Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki will join current and former Olympians at the ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
