Three children hurt after man loses control of car

Associated Press - December 4, 2009 1:24 AM ET

DALY CITY, Calif. (AP) - Three children are hospitalized after police say a 75-year-old man lost control of his car in a Daly City school parking lot.

Daly City Police Sgt. David Mackriss says the man was trying to park his car near Skyline Elementary School around 2:40 p.m Thursday when he instead drove the car over the curb.

Mackriss says the car hit three girls, dragging one a short distance.

One girl suffered head injuries, while the two others were being treated for less serious injuries.

All three were transported to San Francisco General Hospital.

Police did not release the names or ages of the girls, but a fire official says two are six-years-old, while a third was seven-years-old.

The name of the driver was not released.
