Renown Health has rescheduled seasonal flu shot events after receiving its completed shipment of the seasonal flu vaccine. Six event dates have been scheduled for early December where seasonal flu and pneumonia vaccine will be available to the public.
Tuesday, Dec. 1 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Reno Town Mall on So. Virginia & Peckham
Wednesday, Dec. 2 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Reno Town Mall on So. Virginia & Peckham
Saturday, Dec. 5 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Reno Town Mall on So. Virginia & Peckham
Tuesday, Dec. 8 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Reno Town Mall on So. Virginia & Peckham
Wednesday, Dec. 9 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Reno Town Mall on So. Virginia & Peckham
Saturday, Dec. 12 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Reno Town Mall on So. Virginia & Peckham
Seasonal Flu shots are offered at no cost to Medicare beneficiaries (Part B), members of Senior Care Plus or Hometown Health fully insured HMO and PPO plans. All other persons can receive the Seasonal Flu shots for $28 and the Pneumonia Shots for $50.
In an effort to meet community demand in what appears to be an unprecedented year, Renown Health first began providing seasonal flu shots approximately one month earlier this year. To date, Renown has provided nearly 9,500 seasonal flu shots to community members.
"The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends a flu vaccine as the first and most important thing people can do to protect against the flu," said Lori Mitchell, wellness resources manager at Renown Health. "Additional preventive actions like washing your hands and covering your cough will help stop the spread of germs."
Pediatric flu shots are available by appointment only for children ages 6 months to 8 years old. Call 775-982-4148 to schedule these appointments.
